Whether you consider yourself an expert or just a beginner, there are always more ways to improve one's game and the shores of Delaware and Maryland aren't lacking the resources needed to perfect that serve. Below are a few places that offer lessons and clinics.

Dave Marshall's Summer Clinics


As Sea Colony's Tennis Director since 1990, Dave's reputation for teaching excellence is recognized throughout the Middle Atlantic states. He is known by the juniors he has coached to become top college and professional players, and through the thousands of Sea Colony owners and vacationers whose improved skills have led to their greater enjoyment of the game.

A former nationally-ranked collegiate player, Dave holds Delaware Open Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles Championships. Dave has been USPTA Middle States Pro of the Year as well as Delaware Pro of the Year.

Bobby Hush is a well respected tennis pro. As a lecturer, teacher, tour player and sports facilities designer and developer he brings over 35 years of expertise in the tennis industry to Bethany Club Tennis and our surrounding area.

Whether you are a beginner looking for a lifetime sport or a top competitor on the national scene, Bobby's strong background and unique teaching 'style' will provide individual, professional instruction to anyone who seeks to develop their skills and achieve their full potential in the sport of tennis. Bobby is available for instruction by appointment.

Ocean City Tennis Center


Dr. Keith Coleman is in his third year as the Head Pro at the OC Tennis Center. He is a USPTA Certified Tennis Professional 1 and a member of USRSA. Keith works winters at the Natick Racquet Club in Natick, MA. He played #1 Singles and #1 Doubles and was MVP at Campbell University (NC).

Keith received a Doctorate in Psychology from Andover Newton Theological School and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts. He also teaches psychology at North Shore Community College (MA) and is working toward certification in Sport Psychology. He grew up in Cambridge, MD and worked there from 1987-2003 at the Bay Country Racquet Club. Keith also worked for several years with Grand Slam winner Don Budge at the Don Budge Tennis Camp in Baltimore, MD.

South Point Tennis Club


C.J. Travers, Tennis Director & Professional, is a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association and has over 23 years of teaching experience. Travers attended and graduated Georgia Southern University and later played in the United States Tennis Association Pro Circuit Satellite Circuit for two years before he went on to help develop and coach many of today's nationally ranked players.

C.J. has helped thousands become top club players. He and his staff are U.S.P.T.A. trained to provide the best level of tennis services available.

Marty Godwin Tennis


Marty Godwin learned the tennis business in Houston, TX while working for Club Corporation of America. She was then selected to be the director of tennis and athletics at Tops'l resort in Destin, FL (one of the nation's top 50 resorts). In 1990, Marty was offered a teaching position at Riviera Country club in Pacific Palisades, CA (one of the top 10 golf courses in the world). After that she started Marty Godwin Tennis. Throughout her career, Marty has focused on the idea of teaching children and adults the basics of tennis and then combining families and students on the court together.

Her tennis teaching style is very simple by really stressing the importance of sound fundamentals and the development of all strokes and swings. It is a style of tennis instruction that has given Marty a reputation of making tennis fun for kids and adults of all ability levels. Tennis camps for kids and adults alike are also available.
