This notice applies to information collected through delmarvabeachguide.com. It explains the limited information we collect, including through the real-estate inquiry form, and the choices available to every visitor.
Information we collect
You can browse most of the guide without directly giving us your name or contact information. We collect information that you choose to submit and limited technical information needed to operate the site.
- Real-estate inquiries: name, email address, optional phone number, selected area, inquiry type, optional message, the page where the request began, and submission and consent dates.
- Website use: hosting, analytics, performance, and advertising services may process browser, device, approximate location, page-view, referral, cookie, or similar technical information.
- Messages: information you include when you contact us or make a privacy request.
Please do not put bank details, government identification numbers, account credentials, or other sensitive personal information in a real-estate inquiry.
How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, maintain, measure, and improve the guide;
- respond to questions and real-estate requests you choose to submit;
- protect the site, visitors, and submission forms from spam, fraud, and misuse;
- keep appropriate records of requests and consent; and
- meet legal obligations and enforce our rights.
Real-estate inquiries and consent
The real-estate form requires an unchecked consent box. By checking it and submitting the form, you ask Delmarva Beach Guide to use the information to respond and, when appropriate, share the inquiry with one participating real-estate professional who may contact you about the request.
The form is an information and referral request. It does not create a brokerage, agency, listing, or representation agreement. A professional who receives an inquiry is responsible for their own services and privacy practices.
You may withdraw consent for future use or sharing by emailing us. Withdrawal does not undo a disclosure that occurred before we received and processed your request.
How long we keep information
We generally keep identifiable real-estate inquiry records for no more than 24 months after the most recent activity. We then delete or de-identify them unless a longer period is reasonably necessary to complete an active request, maintain security and fraud-prevention records, resolve a dispute, or comply with law.
Website analytics, advertising, and infrastructure providers may retain technical information according to their own settings and policies. We keep privacy-request records only as long as reasonably necessary to document and honor the request.
Access, correction, deletion, and other choices
Every visitor may ask us to confirm whether we hold their personal information and request access to a copy, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, or withdrawal of consent for future handling. You may also ask about the categories of information we collect, how we use it, and the categories of parties with whom it is shared.
Email contact@delmarvabeachguide.com with the subject “Privacy request” and include the email address used for the inquiry. We may ask for reasonable information to verify your identity or authority. We aim to respond within 45 days, or sooner when applicable law requires.
Some information may be retained or a request may be limited when reasonably necessary to complete a service you requested, protect security, prevent fraud, exercise legal rights, or comply with law. If we deny a request, you may reply with the subject “Privacy appeal” and explain why you believe the decision should be reconsidered. We will review the appeal and explain the result.
Security and children’s privacy
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect submitted information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The real-estate inquiry service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
