The Cape May-Lewes Ferry, capable of carrying up to 100 vehicles and 1,000 passengers, is the most memorable way to travel between Delaware and New Jersey. Take the Cape May - Lewes Ferry on a 17-mile, 80-minute voyage across the Delaware Bay and cut miles off your trip along the Atlantic Coast. Whether you are vacationing in Rehoboth Beach, Fenwick Island, Lewes, Dewey Beach, Ocean City, MD, Ocean City, NJ, Wildwood, Stone Harbor, Avalon, or anywhere else along the Jersey Shore, the ferry is just a short drive away.

Programs and Events


  • Lewes Terminal: The Cape May-Lewes Ferry offers convenient, round-trip foot passenger service to exciting destinations in Delaware and New Jersey. Food Court and Gift Shop open year round. On the Rocks Bar & Grill open weekends beginning Memorial Day Weekend-daily after July 4th till August 31st.

  • Cape May Terminal: The Cape May-Lewes Ferry offers convenient, round-trip foot passenger service to exciting destinations in Delaware and New Jersey. Food Court and Gift Shop open year round. Rock Pile Bar & Grill open weekends beginning Memorial Day Weekend - daily after July 4th till August 31st. Sunset Lounge (100 seat) Banquet Facility is available year round to book special events.

  • Rock the Boat: FREE with the price of ferry passage. Boatloads of great music! The ferry is the place to be on summer Friday nights in July and August. Cruise departs Cape May at 6:00 p.m. and from Lewes at 6:15 p.m. every Friday, 7/10-8/28.

  • Lighthouse Pete's Family Fun Cruise: FREE with price of ferry passage. Bring the family on a fun-filled adventure with the ferry's adorable mascot, Lighthouse Pete the Pirate. Pete will be joined by other family entertainment including music.
    • Wednesdays from Cape May, NJ, 7/8-8/30 on the 6 p.m. round-trip departure.
    • Sundays from Lewes, DE, 7/8-8/30 on the 6:15 round-trip departure.

  • View Victoria: Includes round-trip ferry ride from Lewes and shuttle service into Cape May. From there, the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC) will take you on a guided, 30-minute trolley tour of the town's Historic District.
    • Weekends, 5/2-6/14 and 10/3-11/11; Daily 6/15-9/27
    • Adults: $24; Children 6-13: $17; Children under 6: Free.

  • Atlantic City Tours - Lucky 7: Package departs from Lewes Terminal and includes round-trip ferry cruise, deluxe motor coach transportation to Atlantic City's Tropicana Hotel & Casino and free parking from departure point.   • Cape May County Zoo Trip: Includes round-trip ferry ride. Departing from Lewes at 9:15 a.m. and returning from Cape May at 4:30 p.m. Also includes shuttle service to and from the zoo. You'll get a fascinating look at 250 species of animals, birds and reptiles in a beautiful garden setting. SPACE IS LIMITED. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED.

  • World War II Trolley Tour: Includes round-trip ferry ride and shuttle service into Cape May. From there, the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC) will take you on a guided 2-hour trolley tour. Learn about the impact of the war on the Cape May area and see the coastal fortifications at Cape May Point including Battery 223 and Fire Control Tower No. 23; see the Cape May Canal and tour Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum.
    • Monday & Wednesday, June 29-September 7 Departing from Lewes at 10:15 a.m.
    • Adults $36; Children 6-13 $26; Children under 6 Free.

  • First-Time Sailors Program: The Cape May-Lewes Ferry recognizes those young travelers aboard for the first time by giving them a coloring book, certificate and sticker. Ask a crewmember for further details.

  • Marine Naturalist Program: FREE with the price of ferry passage. Join the Stone Harbor Wetlands Institute naturalist aboard the ferry. Experience informal talks about live animals brought aboard (terrapins, horseshoe crabs, sea stars, etc.).

  • Historic Lewes Tour (Self-guided Tour): Includes round-trip ferry ride from Cape May, shuttle service into Lewes and admission into the Lewes Historical Society Complex, Cannonball House Maritime Museum and HMB DeBraak exhibit at Zwaanendael Museum. (On the 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. departures every Tues.-Thurs., you may add the Lewes Guided Trolley Tour for an additional $3 per person; Children under age 6 free.)
