Quick answers

Beach transportation FAQs

The practical details visitors most often need before choosing a bus, trolley or park-and-ride.

Can I visit the beach without parking downtown?

Yes. The Rehoboth Park & Ride and Lewes Transit Center have free parking with DART service, and the West Ocean City Park & Ride connects with Ocean City. Check operating dates and special-event fares before you go.

Which beach transportation services are seasonal?

The Bethany Trolley, Jolly Trolley and DART Beach Bus operate primarily during the beach season. Ocean City changes its schedule through the year. Always check the operator’s current schedule and alerts on the day of travel.

Can I bring beach gear on the bus?

DART allows items such as towels, umbrellas and small coolers when they remain secured in your seating area and do not block aisles or inconvenience other riders. Check other operators’ current passenger rules before boarding.

Are the beach buses accessible?

DART buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts, and Ocean City buses are ADA accessible when the vehicle ramp and securement area can accommodate the mobility device. Separate paratransit eligibility and advance-reservation rules may apply.
